The Division of Epidemiology welcomed a delegation from Beijing, Chaoyang CDC, China, at the Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health, Bamrasnaradura Infectious Diseases Institute, and Public Health Service Center 28 Thonburi, during 15-16 October 2025

The Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP), led by Dr. Wichan Bhunyakitikorn, Director of the Division of Epidemiology, welcomed a delegation from Chaoyang CDC, China on a study visit aimed at exchanging knowledge and strengthen collaboration in disease prevention and control. The visit included presentations on the Digital Disease Surveillance (DDS) system, outbreak investigation system, and FETP curriculum. Experts from various divisions also shared insights on controlling HIV/STIs, tuberculosis, and occupational and environmental diseases. The delegation also visited the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and observed the operations of the WATCH team under the Division of Disease Control in Emergencies.
The delegation also visited Bamrasnaradura Infectious Diseases Institute to learn about infection prevention and control practices in healthcare setting. They also explored urban disease prevention strategies with the Institute for Urban Disease Control and Prevention. The program concluded with a visit to Public Health Center 28 Krung Thonburi to exchange and observe primary health service delivery as well as exchange session with urban community health volunteers who shared their field experiences.
This visit makes a significant step in fostering cooperation and enhancing the capacity of public health personnel and systems in Thailand and China.
