International Field Epidemiology Training Program (IFETP)
Program Overview
The International Field Epidemiology Training Program (IFETP) in Thailand is an advanced-level training program conducted under the auspices of the WHO Collaborating Center in Field Epidemiology. This intensive, competency-based training is designed to equip public health professionals with advanced skills in applied epidemiology. Participants gain real-world experience through comprehensive field placements, mentorship from experienced epidemiologists, and rigorous academic coursework. The program focuses on developing leaders capable of investigating complex health issues, designing and implementing effective surveillance systems, and leading public health interventions to protect and improve community health in their respective countries and the broader region. Graduates are prepared for leadership roles in governmental public health agencies, international organizations, and academic institutions.

- Duration: 2 years (June 9, 2025 – May 31, 2027)
- Includes 4 visits to Thailand for on-site training

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates should have:
- A degree in medicine, veterinary medicine, or public health (a master’s degree in public health is preferred).
- English proficiency (TOEFL score of at least 500 preferred).
- At least two years of experience in public health services such as surveillance, disease prevention and control, or health promotion.
Application Process
- Submit the following documents by **March 30, 2025**:
- Completed application form
- Letter of application expressing intent and curriculum vitae (CV)
- Letter of support from the applicant’s government
- Letter of financial support from a funding agency
Training Cost & Payment Options
- **Option 1: Lump-Sum Payment - $45,000**
- • Covers training fee ($25,000) and estimated travel & per diem expenses ($20,000).
- **Option 2: Training Fee Only - $25,000**
- • Participants cover their own travel and per diem expenses (estimated at $20,000 for four trips to Thailand).
